I’ve been obsessed with horror movies for as long as I can remember, which probably explains a lot about my personality and questionable taste in entertainment. Give me blood, guts, unhinged killers, demonic possessions, practical effects, and a body count that would make a coroner quit on the spot. I love a genuinely terrifying masterpiece just as much as an absolute dumpster fire that somehow got a theatrical release. Now I get to share my deeply unhealthy obsession with horror alongside my best buddy, because apparently watching people get brutally murdered on screen wasn’t enough—we needed a website about it, too. And honestly, I’m still forever chasing that glorious fright-mare, high I felt watching the 1996 cinematic masterpiece Bad Moon, when I was so terrified I literally fell out of my bunk bed. I’ve been falling for horror ever since. 🩸🐺

Buddy (2026)

Friendship Is Magic. Murder Is Mandatory. 🦄🩸

Imagine your favorite childhood television mascot developing homicidal tendencies while refusing to drop that painfully enthusiastic smile. Welcome to Buddy, where wholesome entertainment goes to die.

Directed by Casper Kelly, Buddy is a wonderfully bizarre reminder that horror still has some original tricks up its sleeve. I loved how completely unpredictable it was. Just when I thought I had a handle on the madness, the movie gleefully proved me wrong.

The kills are inventive, outrageous, and ridiculously fun, but it’s the humor that really sold me. The hilarious dialogue feels especially twisted against the hauntingly chipper backdrop of relentless positivity, cheerful colors, and smiles that linger just a little too long. It’s the cinematic equivalent of being threatened with a chainsaw while someone enthusiastically sings the cleanup song.

Keegan-Michael Key brings an unsettling energy to Buddy, turning the familiar comfort of a children’s television personality into something you would absolutely not want showing up at your front door.

Final verdict: Cleverly twisted, refreshingly original, and packed with gloriously entertaining carnage. Buddy proves that sometimes the scariest thing in the room is the one demanding you have a nice day.

Friendship is forever. Whether you like it or not. 🦄🔪
